I have 4 polish chickens. They are all about 8 weeks old. Two of them have absolutely no problems with their crests- big and beautiful. One of them is quite bad and has been getting progressively worse for about 2 weeks. Initially I thought it was just molting and then I figured to be safe I would add a DE/sand mixture bath to the run. I see no mites. This chicken is most likely a rooster due to it's enormous waddle development and he is the most aggressive one of the bunch. I don't see any pecking on each other (unless it happens in the coop).I now have one other chicken that is showing much milder feather loss on the crest. Any suggestions? I realize there are many reasons for it but I figured the DE and him being a roo excluded that as a possibility.
