How long has your incubator worked well?

I have had experience with three incubators so far.

The first was a styrofoam incubator my mom bought from TSC well over a decade ago. I don't even remember the brand of it. It lasted a few short weeks because when I cleaned it after using it the first time, I left it out in the sun to dry and my free-ranging chickens ate part of it. 😅

The second is my beloved Brinsea Octagon 20 eco. I got it as a birthday gift way back in 2014. Used it a couple times in 2014-2015, put it in storage for a couple years, got it back out in 2017, and I've used it at least once annually ever since. This year it's been my hatcher, so it's been on almost weekly cycles of being cleaned, run for a few days, and then shut off for a few days. Solid as a rock, still reliable as always.

The third is a Brinsea Ovation 28 eco. I believe that one is around 5-ish years old? I didn't use it much, maybe once or twice over the years since I got it, because I favored the Octagon, but this year it's been running pretty much solidly since spring minus a few week-long breaks in between batches. Still going strong, just set another batch in it yesterday.

Since I have several incubators of differing ages, I voted for the oldest of mine. 🙂

I'm thinking you weren't even a teenager when I got my incubator.

I am still a teenager!

My family's original incubator was a Brinsea polyhatch, have had that for as long as I can remember, possibly older then I am. Still got it, needs the turning arm replaced before I can test it to see if it still works well. Last hatch in it wasn't very successful but I was hand turning and I think we had a few power outages.
Bought a Brinsea ovation 28 last year after playing around with a cheap incubator for a few hatches.
