pooping in nesting boxes

help! how do i keep my chickens from pooping in their nesting boxes???

the nesting boxes are near the bottom of the coop so under the perches, so they must not be sleeping in them...??? any suggestions???

Close the nest boxes off at night and open them in the morning. Set the chickens on the roost each evening at dusk or just after dark. They should learn within a week or so.

Be sure the roost is wide enough to be comfortable for them. Their feet do not curl around a roost the way many birds' do; they are not comfortable on a broomstick type bar and prefer something like a fat branch or the wide side of a 2x4.
