We have the 6 ft chainlink across the top of it too. We put tarps over it for now for a little added protection from the elements until we come up with something a little craftier.I love the security of putting coops inside pens. I saw that cute red coop before and it's nice to see it in use to give size perspective. And the new build is sweet. Chainlink ever so much sturdier than poultry wire. Wouldn't keep out snakes but if you don't have them in your area than no problem. What's being used as roof material? Is it wired or a soft top? Good use of property boulders for the base. I like the look of rock borders.
We have soooooooo many rocks in our yard left over from construction that we had to find a use for them somewhere. I think this works perfectly.
We are new to raising chickens so we are making it up as we go, but I don't think their set up is half bad. I am envious of some of the other coops I see but due to chicken math I am sure a new structure will be in our .... very near future. Just don't tell the DH I said that.
