Installed "chicken curtains" in the nesting box area. The hens have been laying exclusively in the most-secluded box off the end. I was expecting that to be the least-used one, because access is obstructed. Nope. It's the most popular, probably because chickens need some privacy when pooping-out an egg.

I am learning about chicken-psychology.

I like the integrated porch/coop/run idea, very efficient use of space. I can't help but wonder though, are there any problems with, ahem, chicken smell?

Sorry, I don't have an answer for you, I currently have one, former free-range, Bantam. So smells are pretty much non existent. I'm waiting on call to pick up ISA Brown chicks, I'll let you know, once my flock get bigger.

Nice set up, good use of space. I am wondering how you fill feeder and waterer, and clean the area under the deck. I did not see a human entrance.

It looks like there is a piece of plexiglas covering an opening on the left, by the feeder and waterer. Not for large humans though!

We finished the new coop this weekend. In the picture the trims not finished. 16'x8'

Sleeping area and pet taxi for nest box. I have Silkies so they huddle in a pile on the ground so igloo is for them to sleep in.

Feeding area and I put logs to help keep too much bedding from getting in food area/dust bath area and I put some stumps up near the open area so they can get up and look out in the yard. Next I want to build a pvc trough to hand for feed and a swing.
