And was an excellent mother, even if she did try to kill me whenever I tried to do anything with them!

That is her job. To protect them even from you.

I'm not quite sure, but it may have been Marek's.
She had an eye problem for quite a while, but seemed happy enough, but then it seem like her brain started to go.
She was still 'healthy' in that she would still eat and things, but she started not coming out the coop by herself, despite being physically able to.
It was just time to let her go...

I’m so sorry. That must have been rough. And beautiful chicks too!

I’m so sorry. That must have been rough. And beautiful chicks too!

Its ok, I've been around enough animals all my life to know when its time, and then remember the good times, and move on.
And I do have some of her babies, who should be starting to lay soon!
She looked after those chicks, and also helped her sister with hers, until they pretty grown up.

I am usually not a Buff Orpington fan, but she was absolutely gorgeous and this picture is just darling. RIP Buffy.

If he continues to behave, stay non-aggressive to humans and doesn't develop bad feet from this winter. If any if those happen, he'll be culled

I have 3 jubilee,1 cockrel and 2 pullets..i just gave another cockerel who was showing aggression towards some of the hens. He went to a famy that has some very inbred yard birds ( closed flock for at least 4 years) so he needed new blood to add some size, i gave him a 5 week old b.o. pullet and the jubilee cockerel..as i remove somefrom my flock there are two families i am handing the ones i choose not to keep to..both familees use for meat and eggs..

Anyway.. these are thethree i still have

She was beautiful !!!
I have eight Buff Orpington, seven hens one rooster, we have had many Buff Orpington chickens I love them because they are just so sweet and very smart, they might have little brains but they are intelligent, predictable too. Here are a couple of photos of my
