Poetry is a wonderful and creative way to capture a moment, experience, or chicken in words, and seeing as it has been a while since the last poetry thread, I have created a new one. Anyone is welcome to stop by to share their original poultry poetry (subject matter not limited to chickens). I will begin by sharing a simple haiku:

Coop door creaks open
A whirlwind of flapping wings
The day has begun.

How about an extended limerick?

There once a chicken named Lilly
Who was handled by children quite silly
She flapped into the air
And landed right there
Her foot hit the pie
I can’t tell you why
It was lucky Grandma grabbed her quite quickly

Another haiku or two:

Sun warms the pavement
Orloff sinks down, fans out wing
Relaxed, contented.

Watermelon time!
Chickens scramble for the red
Beaks pecking non-stop.
