Sarabi smiled. She could see her entire territory from this rock. She saw Haku refusing what he wanted for his job. *Get one. You can eat* she told him through his mind. She laid down on the warm rock.
Imara stood up, and ran across the field. She had heard something. Imara was the curious type. And just because she was skinny and badly beaten made her tougher and more ferocious towards her enemies. She prowled the border.
"Hey!" Haku called. "You don't need to prowl the borders, that's my job!"
Imara ignored her. She saw elephants, zebras, and giraffes pass by. If she could take down an elephant, maybe she wouldn't be the omega of the omegas anymore. Maybe she would move up a rank! She crouched down in the grass. A young elephant had lost its mother and was looking for it. Imara saw that the elephant was big enough to feed the pride, but it was extremely weak. It was laying on its side, making all sorts of elephant noises. Imara pounced.
