Haku watched the little lion until she heard somthing approaching. She crouched down to her fighting position and the flame went out. She growled. A meerkat ran out onto the other side of the lake, and stood up. It stared at her, whiskers twitching. Then it dashed into a hole and was seen no more.
 
"Kopa, come with me, but stay close" Sarabi said to her cub, lifting him by the scruff.

"Ok mom" he said, knowing he had no choice.

Sarabi smiled. "Haku, I don't want you hurting yourself" Sarabi said after placing Kopa on the ground.

Kopa began chasing a grasshopper. He pounced on it and laughed as it flew away.
 
"I'm not hurting myself," she muttered. Haku shaped a butterfly out of fire and let it fly around in the air.
