pullet or cockerel?

i have to silkieXpolish ive alwayd thought both were female! recently one of my girls comb had darkened dramatically along with that the top hat has begun to look more rooster like to me... and lastly "she" has been more "protective" pecking at me when i fill food or change water also pecking at phone while taking pics! is my pullet really a cockerel? the black chicken is in question .

Can you get a photo of the black one's back? Based off the pointy crest feathers and what appear to be saddle feathers (hard to tell for sure with the photos, though), I'm thinking cockerel.

I agree and am leaning cockerel on the black one as well. A full body profile would be nice as well in helping to determine its gender. And you are correct, the other one is a pullet.

so female? anyone have an idea why her head feathers are so crazy? and can someone explain the reason needed for the full body and what determined her a pullet?
