I have a mouse that has been leaving droppings that is inside the coop. I put three mouse traps with peanut butter outside so far, and only one mouse got killed by one. I don't know how many mice we have, but I am only seeing one in the coop at night so far. I was wondering, could I put a mouse trap in the coop while my chickens are sleeping? Do chickens ever get down from their roost at night? I will wake up early (5:30) to get the trap, so that way when my chickens wake up (around 6:30), they won't mess with it.
So my main concern is will it be okay to put a mouse trap inside the coop while they sleep?

I would not do it! Chickens do wake up at night for certain things like a sound, to eat, to drink, etc., and they would definitely spot the mouse trap right away. They'd be the ones you would wake up to find in the trap.
