Hi All,
We are looking to move our chicks outside. They are about 2 months old and have their feathers. Our barn and thus their final coop, is not ready yet. Our older hens are in their "chicken Fort Knox". It is 2 dog runs with a cover and has their coop inside. Our thought is to move their coop over and divide the run in half and put in another "coop" for the chicks. My concern is that our hens have been there for about a year and I don't want the chicks-who have only been outside once- to get sick. Is there something I should do or give to them before I move them outside?
Also, I am not sure if one of mine is a roo. I had a bad experience with the one we had last year so I am scared. IS there anything I can to to encourage a nice roo if that is what it turns out to be?
