Go to "My profile" and click
Under your existing (default) avatar, there's "Change my avatar" -click on that
Then drag and drop the photo / image you wish into the box that appears and you should be good to go

OK, thanks guys! But there is no 'Change My Avatar' button under my avatar. I am on a Kindle if that helps?

You may just need a few more posts. The more you post the more features become available to you. I'm afraid due to persistent spammers these measures were put in place. I'm sure with a few more posts you will be good to go, the system will recognise you as a genuine member
