question about a custom mix feed

I want to come up with a mix to use in addition to their regular diet of layer pellets. This is going to be a custom scratch I guess. My idea is to take a bag of scratch, a bag of alphafa pellets, a bag of crimped oats and mix them in a can. Then give the girls free choice layer. Then give them ________? amount of the mix. Probably a 1lb coffee can per day. Right now I have 23 birds that i'm feeding.
Is there another grain that you would add? Make sure it's readly available at the feed store. Any that you would not add?

Don't use crimped oates. Use whole oats. And by the way, if they are not use to eating oats then more than likely they will not do so unless they are soaked first. saladin
