Question about barred rock hen!

So glad to see a variation in BR combs is normal. I have 5 barred rocks. The place I bought them from said he thought there was a touch of Dominiques in some of them because of the comb. One has a big red comb with ridges along each side and a groove down the middle. One has a perfectly stand up red comb. One has a flat comb that may still be developing. One has a comb that the front is flat and the back half stands up and one barely has a comb at all. I think I read that Barred Rocks were bred by crossing dominiques and something else but I'm not real sure about that.
