So we have been using pine shavings for our chicks in the brooder for over 2 weeks now. We have a problem though....they are in the house and its causing WAY too much dust. I just dusted yesterday and there is already a layer on everything around them. Any suggestions on keeping the dust down? Or another bedding to use that will help absorb smell??

Thanks for the help!

It's not just the pine shavings that cause the dust, it's the chicks themselves (dander as they grow feathers).

It's the #1 reason I won't brood chicks in the house, ever. I'm sorry I don't have anything to offer you for advice.

I am using dried grass from the feed store for my chicks. A big bag of it was less than $3. I was not sure what to use and the man at my feed store said that this grass was just fine for them.
