do the A&M varation mature more slowly than the others? i have two A&M's that seem to be slower. my others are laying or crowing already. these two whites don't do anything, so i cannot tell if they are male or female yet.

They are probably female. Mine (a&m) start crowing as early as 4 weeks, most all of the males are crowing by 6. The females all started laying between 4 and 6 weeks too.

good to hear. i've sold off all of the extra males and just kept one male with two known females and the two A&M's. i was hoping the two white ones were female.

as for the size, if these are from the eggs i sent to you that's why they are small. My A & M pen were pharaoh in size.

I can normally tell the hens just by looking at their chest. If they got a big ping pong ball type chest it's mroe than likelya gal
