Question about Show

Hello, I'm going to take a hen to a very small poultry show soon. I have all the showing parts down fairy well. The thing is that my hen is 8 years old, more of a pet than an egg layer / show bird, and has not ever been out of the yard she was raised in her whole life. My question is if showmanship would be too rough or stressful for her, with the car ride there and new environments plus all the handling.

If you would like to do showmanship with your bird, practice with her in a cage and handle her as you would in showmanship.
The environment isn't normally very stressful, but I have no experience showing older birds, though I have seen some seasoned 8-year-old hens there.
I would recommend bathing her afterward so she doesn't get anything.

I agree. That type of stress can really affect a bird at her age.
