Question about time zones and plane tickets.

I have a flight this Saturday and I'm confused about the time zones. I want to make sure I give my mother the correct time to pick us up at the airport. I usually fly from NY to IN which are the same zones but this time I'm going from NY to IL.

Here is what my itinerary has on it.

Departure 1 stop Total travel time: 4h 15m

SYR 5:05pm ORD (Chicago) 6:25pm 2h 20m 602 miles

Layover 1h 5m

ORD 7:30pm CMI (Champaign) 8:20pm 50m 130 miles



Does the ticket switch over to the central time zone when I get to Chicago or does it stay in the eastern zone the whole trip? I need to know whether to have my mother show up at 8:20pm or 7:20pm.

You'll see the ticket tells you 4 hours of travel but the plane departure is 5:05. It takes time zones in account.

Thanks for the information. I just wanted to be sure. I didn't want to have her there waiting or me waiting around especially since I'm traveling along with a baby.
