Question: Does hen age matter when it comes to hatching eggs?

I have 6 hens that have been laying for about a month. I started saving their eggs for a teacher to hatch in her classroom. Does it matter how long a hen has been laying when it comes to incubating? Should we find fertile eggs from someone who's hens have been laying longer?

It didn't matter with my chickens' eggs. I think my Delaware had been laying for a little while, but as soon as my Silkies and d'Uccle started laying, I started incubating their eggs. All the babies are happy and healthy and about 4 months old now.
