How much more prevalent is cross break in the breed, than in chickens in general? (I have heard that it is more common in the breed, but want to get the word from actual breeders and not just google.) Is it something you think/worry about, or just something that is dealt with if/when it happens?

@SilverBirds do you know this?
From my understanding, it is a recessive gene. I believe both parents have to have the gene for the chick to have crossed beak. I've heard that it is more common in EEs and Ameraucanas, but I'm not sure how true it is. I don't officially breed any of my birds but none of my chicks have ever had it. :idunno

I test bred a hen with it to a rooster and those chicks all had it. Culled the am hen and the chicks and no longer raise them as they take to long to lay and barely ever lay so that breed wasnt for me I do have my black ameraucana rooster though i used him for olive eggers
