Now. I asked my 2 youngest (15 and 16) and they said no. So after school we're going to have a quick session on check writing, making deposits, and how to use/balance a checkbook.

Of course. They actually taught us in 7th grade. We had a business section in our math class. Much more useful information than finding x or solving for y. I write checks a lot, to pay a few bills and to put money on my son's lunch account.

They didn't do that here. We talk often about how awesome a personal finanace /life skills course (just 1 semester some place) would be helpful for kids in middle or high school.
