This is another one I keep by my laptop. I actually got this from a fortune cookie and have had it for a couple years now:

It always reminds me that it is my responsibility to make my life what I want it to be.

Everyone carries around their own personal bag of 'bad stuff'. It's there not to be used as an excuse but to remind us of that place to which we WILL NOT return.
