I am having raccoon issues as well. They are a nuisance animal and serve no real purpose. Yes they look cute, but are vicious and kill anything they get in their clutch. I concur with @sourland ….best to dispatch them before they kill your birds. Best of luck and sorry you have a heavy heart. It is not easy
