Raccoons

Has anyone ever had an experience with raccoons opening a carabeener? Just how clever are they. What should you use to lock down the windows and doors of their coop?

Hi and from Ohio. So glad to have you aboard. I have hardware cloth over the windows and the doors we have slide bolts. We have never had a problem with coons getting in, but they do have those nimble little hands.

! I sure hope they can't! I have carabeeners on three different doors into my coops and runs. No problems yet. I can see them figuring out how to open one but then not to actually unlatch it from the whatever it is closing. Just my opinion. Best of luck to you! Oh, and yes, harware cloth on the windows!

Thanks, so much for your response. I've been busy with finding a home for our rooster. I'm glad to know someone knew what I was talking about regarding the carabeeners. I'm glad they haven't figured yours out. I do have hardware cloth over every opening. I'll post a picture of the new coop soon. Thanks again for your help.
