Rarest breed of chicken in the US?

You need to get in touch with chickielady--she is starting out with the RIWs too! You have some very nice ones (they are sure rare!)

As for your Orloffs, they are okay....hens look to have too much white and the rooster looks a little dark...what lines are they from?

No idea where the Orloffs came from. They guy I got them from had bought them from someone else a few months before that. I'll hatch out some chicks (IF they ever decide to lay an egg that is..)
and see what comes out of them.

Here's a better comb shot of one of the RIW's...they're ginormous guys!

Finally someone else that has RIWs !!!
I think they are awesome !
Where are you ?
Where did you get them and do you want to trade some eggs ?

I'm in N. Florida. I got the eggs 2 years ago off of Ebay. I think they came from Mo. or Ks, I can't remember right off hand.
I'd love to swap with you in the spring!! I love em', they're really pretty to look at except after they take their dirt baths :p

I am dreading the day these learn to dirt bathe outside...or when the roos learn to mount and the hens are so filthy.
With all our mud...maybe we should breed some chocolate coloring into the breed !
Look me up about March and we can swap !
