You can see in this phot, that his earlobes have some white scruffs in them...and very obviously it is winter so the bird is most probably not in breeding plumage and decoration.
What we wonder is: Does the roo form white earlobes in the spring ?

A male chicken's earlobes can become whiter if the bird is under a year old....... as it matures. This bird's earlobes will not become whiter. It does show some white in the lobes though and overall is a good representation of the breed.

I wouldn't call Silkied Ameraucanas a breed, but yes, those are freaky rare.

Only ever saw ONE person post a photo of their own birds from the U.S.

'Tis why I mentioned Oriental Gamefowl, and I think those sort of can fit in there too.

There are reasons why the silkie amerucauna are rare. In all honest if someone tried to give me I would have said no thinking it was disesed. That is until yesterday when i found.out kinda.creep

Thanks for letting me know though.

Silkied ameraucanas show the true sense of hidden genes. From what I understand they started when someone ordered splash silkies they have them come out silkied and these project birds have evolved from that.
