The only thing I thought I saw that was missing was part of the sanitation process, cleaning up everything that the rats could use as cover.
And she was focusing on the very expensive exclusion before seeing if the treadle feeder would stop the onslaught. That is the first step, sanitation, not exclusion. Shouldn't be needed if the sanitation is done properly.
