Was checking for eggs today and noticed red and grey looking things crawling up my arms. I realised they were probably red mites and so i burned all the bedding and hosed down the entire coop. I'm currently locking the hens out of the coop until I can find a treatment. I've set up a temporary shelter for the hens so they have somewhere to go if it rains. Any ideas on how to treat the coop and the hens? I've heard that eradication is almost impossible but i'm would like to know if it's possible.

I use food grade diametrious earth. Since I've used it my hens seem to be bug free! I sprinkle it all over the coop after each cleaning. You should be able to find it at your local feed store.
