A friend of mine found a duck with badly clipped wings left at a park. I took her in. I’ll attach photos. But I’m curious about what her age is? She seems to peep and not quack? I don’t know if that’s normal. She follows me around like I’m her mom. I’m inside and she’s at the door outside just chirping away. I got food for her and a kiddie pool set up so she can get in and out. I will set her up a space near my chicken coop in the barn for her. I plan on getting her a friend. What are the need to knows on ducks?

Well done on the rescue. To me it looks like a Rouen drake, somewhat underweight, but you can cure that. Good luck with him.
I wondered if it was a Rouen but it’s very small. Definitely the size of a mallard (female of course) unless it’s just a juvenile which for the time of year, it definitely could be.

Looks like the flight feathers are just growing in? Young maybe 6 weeks or less looks like some down still on the head area. Bless you for taking him in! Give him a safe secure place to sleep and good feed he’ll make a fine pet. As far as sex no idea if younger than 6 weeks you should def start hearing some quacks if female.

So you also think it’s a male? I talked to someone else who said it looks young. Still has some down feathers and it’s still making chirping sounds.

I don't know anything about Rouens specifically but looking at the amount of feathers/fluff, it looks very similar in amount of feather development to my 5 week old ducklings.
