Respiratory Issue - Chicken noob here... just need some guidance.

My vet is funny... I told her I had a bunch of Baytril and she said "do I want to know how you got that?" We both laughed. She will prescribe metronidazole, which is also on the banned list, so I'm guessing she would for Baytril, but it's so easy to get without a prescription that I never need her to. She just says "give it X mg/kg X times a day for X days (X is not always the same number, it depends on what we're treating for). FWIW, they did have me sign a waiver stating that I would never eat and of the animals she treated.

Just had to put Miss Saffron down today. She rebounded mid march and looked like she just might recover, and then took a nasty turn for the worse last week... She was ready to go today... so, we helped her on her way.

The post cull "autopsy" revealed that she was just inundated in her own thick mucusy fluids. The crazy weather oscillations in Feb (70 degrees one day... -10 the next) and the insanely dry air (18% at one point) was just too much for her.

We cremated her remains.
