A month ago I bought a pair of Ringnecks. The shopkeeper told me that it's a pair. But as I've observed I think both are males because both of them do bow cooing in front of eachother and both of them try to get on top of the other as they do during mating. Yesterday I left 2 quail eggs in their nest. One of them I think got broody because she is sitting on them since yesterday. I presumed because of this that she's a female. She only gets up to eat. When she goes for feeding, the other dove sits on the eggs. And she no longer goes for flight. I've attached their picture too.

My “pair” is doing the same thing so I sent DNA in on them to see as I’ve been told females can bow and coo also

Females will bow and coo. They’ll sometimes laugh too. But also, I’ve had a lone proven male sit on eggs before. Doves are kinda tricky when it comes to gender. You’ll probably have to wait and see if they lay their own eggs.
