Most of my nest boxes are free-standing and cobbled together from junk.. I just set it on the floor or ground where I can see inside the box when I open the door to feed . If there is an egg the box is tilted up so the egg rolls to the front and I can pick it up without having to get down on my hands and knees. A proper roll-out nest box at waste height would be much better for this old man with a bad back. Someday....
