So now that Blackie's a little older (probably about 3-4 months now), I'm hoping his/her gender might be a little easier to determine, but as a novice in this field I have no idea what to look for so... pictures! Oh and ignore all the food on his/her face... messy eater~

And while we're at it, can anyone tell me why my "black" Silkie is getting white feathers on his/her chest, neck and wings? I'll include pictures...

It is a rooster. As for the white stripes, he is not a pure Black. He should make a handsome guy.

Agreed, It's a cockerel and he's getting the silver because he's not a pure black. I have one like him and he's gorgeous.
