Roo with issue

Thank you all. When I got home on Friday he was barely breathing and hadn't touched anything. We felt it more humane to put him down. On Sat morning another chicken was dead. I did some searching and the food had mold. I've dealt with the same mill for all my feed - they will be getting a visit from me this am. :-(

Sorry for your loss.

Aflatoxins perhaps? Too many feed stores I know don't appear to know molds are life threatening... Either they don't know or don't care.

Best wishes.

So sorry for your loss. Moldy food is fairly common in summer, and after last year's shortage of corn and other grains, it is especially important to keep an eye out for mold on the feed. I have opened brand new bags of scratch grains before with mold. So sorry for your loss, and I hope the others don't suffer any problems. This is very common with chickens.
