I got 3 golden comets & 3 buff Orpingtons... From what I read it looks like I may have a Roo Comet... There is a comet that is getting pretty light... They are 4 weeks old

I think a male comet would be much whiter.

Someone more familiar with them may be able to clarify that.

If these are hatchery Comets, the males would be almost solid white (they get some red in the back/wing but it's a dark, brick red). If you got them from someone on Craigslist or something similar, all bets are off. The color-gender alignment only works in the first crossing.

x2. As long as a first generation sex link hen's head and chest are colored, pretty much the rest of her body can be white.

I got day old chicks from a farm/garden supply store. They came reputable, going to cross my fingers that she's a she
