Hi all, I’d love your opinions on whether I have a rooster on my hands…the “girls” are 2 months old this week, and this one’s wattle and comb are getting red faster than most of the other Rocks (and much faster than any of the Reds). Do I have a rooster? 😱 thanks!!

The red wattles are a concern but the skinny legs and general body shape say pullet. But that is a barred rock. Is that chick the same color as the other barred rocks? Maybe take a photo with it right next to a couple of the others.

A male barred rock has two barred genes while a female only has one. When they feather out the boys look a lot lighter (more silvery) than the girls. The difference should be easily noticeable.

Still hard to say. In the first photo it looks lighter than the other one but that could be a trick of the light. Inb the other photo they all look the same. I know, not much help.

The body shape and neck really leans toward pullet, I don't see any sign of hackles at all. Aside from the comb, which can be the most deceitful marker, everything else looks like a pul.
