Bird in question does have pointy feathers on the hackle that are tipped with green. They also blow up a bit in the slightest of wind and a bit soft/curly. It is supposed to be a Production RIR. Guessing at age but about 40+ weeks. This bird is huge and has a very long neck. Jumbo fat legs compared to my pullets, wide stance and legs have slight feathers on them. It makes a deep noise when startled. When I see it run it reminds me of a game cock profile - muscular legs, long and low to the ground, bow legged looking from the rear (you can see right through - no rump of a pullet to speak of).
Pointed feathers are always a sign of a cockerel.
