Rooster hit by a car

You are doing the best you can. The crepitus you feel may be subcutaneous emphysema, he may have had air forced out of his lung into surrounding tissue, It may have sealed itself off. Just let him rest now, no poking or prodding. Occasional peaking is fine. Today you will know better if he makes it.

I'm just going to leave him be for now, thanks for all the advice.

I keep having to explain to my oldest that the rooster doesn't want to see her bedroom, so she's singing him lullabies, lol.

He's still hanging on at the moment.

I don't know if the Tylenol helped, but he's breathing with his beak closed at the moment. He showed a little bit of interest in some ham, I'm going to soft scramble an egg for him now.

He's doing some funky things with his beak, it doesn't completely line up when he's trying to eat, but I don't know if that is normal. Hard to explain.

He's perked up a lot, stood up briefly before lowering himself again. I gave him a bit of leftover soup and he was happily eating it.

I'm hoping he makes it.

Also reading through the thread, thanks for sharing!
