I have 3 Rouen ducks. One female and two males. They live with my 17 chickens.

There almost a year old and I don't have any eggs yet. Or do I?

The issue is I have a few hens that's like to lay on top of my nesting boxes and such. I've been finding a small cream/light brown colored egg on the floor of my coop for the past few days but I'm not sure if it's one of my barred rocks (same looking egg) or if it's the female Rouen.

Can anyone explain what Rouen eggs look like and provide pictures?

Thanks

If it looks like your chicken eggs, it probably is--sorry! However, when ducks begin laying they often lay a darker colored egg than they will when they're older, and it will usually be smaller than the mature size. So it could be a duck egg after all. It's really hard to say.

Some ducks lay a brown, green, or blue egg, but most are white. My Runners lay a pale green egg when they're young and it gradually bleaches out to mostly white as they mature.
