Akira dared him to cross the border silently, her tail twitching with anticipation. "He's dead," she sneered. She knew he wasn't, but she wanted to see North's reaction.
Lark, still stewing about the earlier events with Nikko, stalked through the forest. Her ears shot up, and then flattened against her skull when she heard Akira's voice. Darkpack, she snarled silently in her mind, and stalked closer, coming to North's side.
Quartz looked up and spotted her mate. She smiled weakly, feeling a little guilty that she hadn't bothered to find him and share her catch.(It's fine.)
