My little monsters at -20 run right into the creek and play all day they act like its 80 deg. And at 5pm they come home for super and call it a day. They have a 4x8 shed for night time with hay the cold does not bother them
I don't heat anywhere. I have bedded down the shelters with surplus hay from the sheep/horses. They are fine, the calls still swim if i can keep water open lol.
Don't heat the chickens either, from bantams to the layers and yeah we get cold i'm in Canada lol
I simply add gallon milk jugs full of hot water to their coop on really cold nights. As the water cools and freezes it gives off heat. I also purchased a remote thermometer from Walmart ($10). I keep the probe in the coop and the receiver in the house. It gives me peace of mind knowing my feathered pets are comfy.
