safety for our future flock vs 3 dogs and 3 barn cats

knowing flock will have to be penned till my other pets gets used to them? overly concerned ? or just jump in. I have a local feed source though not sure how much it will cost yet I also have to build a pen w run
 
thanks looks like i'll be jumpin in i'll build a tractor first ive plenty of yard i could build a a pen in my barn for winter i want i want it don't end love life in country we raised chickens sold eggs in 50's & 60's i can still smell the scalding in the basement what great memories going towards 2nd childhood have about 3 to 4 to go shoomy
 
Hi and :welcome from Ohio. So glad you joined. Our cats were afraid of the chickens and the dogs just like chasing them but then they were taught not to hurt the chickens. :thumbsup
 
Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan :D

It really depends on your dogs. you will want to have a secure area for the chickens regardless, as there are many predators that will take advantage of your chickens if they are left out loose.
