salt in summer

My husband has been giving our chickens salted sunflower seeds, just as a little treat. Is this OK? They really seem to love them. He just gives them a little from the palm of his hand. Less than an ounce per day divided among 6 chickens.

I would limit how much salt you give them (just because of high blood pressure) but plain sunflower seeds are perfectly fine.
