Sand in the run.

We never found construction sand so we used playground sand and I use a kitty litter scoop and a mesh cooking sieve to clean all the poop out every day. We have 5 chookies and it's so clean I can walk in bare feet. Sand is fantastic.

From what I've read, both construction sand and play sand have silica in them, which is a carcinogen. I want to use sand too but not if it has silica.

Don’t use playground sand. It smooshes up and sticks when it’s damp or wet like kids make shapes out of it. You definitely need a course sand. If they swallow the sand. Which they definitely will it will cause crop impaction
