So here’s the story... someone reached out to me needing to rehome their chicken. They thought they had a “she,” but then they heard her try to crow. They separated her from the flock for the week, and she didn’t lay an egg. The problem is, I don’t have an exact hatch date other than sometime this spring. I really don’t think she’s a roo, but I am absolutely not familiar with sapphire gems at all, and her comb and wattles do look awfully big... but again, I don’t know if that’s a breed trait or what? Anyway, I figured I would ask the experts! So, what’s your vote? :idunno

While I don't see male feathering, I have not yet seen a face as male as that on a girl.
Seems to have some feather loss, which would account for not seeing male feathering.

Although there are some feathers on the back I'm suspicious of.
