Scabbing of the comb

After dubbing, is it best just to let it heal slowly by itself or would it hurt to pick off scabs?

I let my chickens scabs heel on its own.

Well I accidentally cut too much earlob off on one side and it just opened up to about a inch wide and I didn't know if that's fine or should I sow it together
