My Orpingtons developed really bad scaly leg while I was unwell. Think it has been going on for some months !
I have been treating with olive oil for 15 days now and seem to be getting on top of it.
But I am a bit worried as some birds seem to have very few scales left their legs are smooth like skin.
They are not bleeding, I have been very gentle and have not pulled scales off they just dont have any under the mite crude.
Any thoughts / experience of this.
Do people think they will grow new scales or have they been permanantly damaged.
I feel so guilty but help I had didnt know about scaly leg.
