Hi!

This is my first small flock of chickens. They were born in early June. I have 8 in all: 1 red star, 1 BO, 1 Wyandotte, 2 silkies, 1 cochin, 1 frizzle cochin (bantam), and 1 crested polish. It is a wonderful flock with great birds for pets/laying. I think of my egg layers, the only one laying is the red star. How does that work? I am anxious to see some of the other eggs. Also, I have yet to buy oyster shells. The man at the feed store said it wasn't necessary. Said they get enough of what they need in their food. I try to give them calcium rich treats a couple of times a week. Appreciate thoughts on this!

Thanks!

That would make them, what, four months old? Don't expect more hens laying for another month at least!
Congratulations on getting eggs so quickly!
