Hi everyone,

I have a 1-month old buff Orpington which I really wish it is a she.
I don’t see any development in comb yet, her same hatch brother has already got a big red comb.
I have heard Orpington mature slower and there is a chance she might suddenly grow out a comb in the next few weeks. How likely is that? Given it is already 1 month and there is no comb and no redness whatsoever.

Please if you also have buff Orpington chicks can you post some photos so I can have a compare?

Many thanks

That little barred rock is male though.

Looks like a pullet to me. Here are pictures of my Gerard and Gretchen at 4 weeks (I could tell Gerard was a boy at two weeks, though, based entirely on his behavior - he had that boy chicken swagger :wee . He turned out to be a very sweet boy, though, just too big for the girls, so he has his own bachelor pad right next to them 🥰).
